Prerequisites
Download and install QZ Tray available in qz.io, the QZ Tray agent should be installed in the POS Computer. As of 2024, QZ Tray is available for download for Windows, macOS and Linux Desktops. Why is it needed? QZ Tray acts as a bridge between your web browser and the local printer.
QZ Tray Certificate Setup
- Navigate to Point of Sale > Configuration > Settings. Under Connected Devices:
- Global setup once for the Odoo Database : (1) Click Generate Certificate to create a security certificate.
- Setup for each POS Device : (2) click Download Certificate for QZ Tray Agent. (3) Install the Certificate by dragging the generated cert-*.pem file and dropping it to the QZ Tray Site Manager. The certificate will be installed and the site will be added to the QZ Tray trusted sites list, this will allow the POS to communicate with the QZ Tray agent securely and you won't be annoyed by the QZ Tray security warnings popups.
Set the Printer Name (Globally)
Set up the default printer name, any printer that is recognized by QZ Tray will do the job.

Configure Preparation Printers
Create a new printer with the QZ Tray type, define the local name, then assign product categories to the printer as you would do for IoT Box and Epson Printers.
